Fake Flowers

Back in the day when I worked at Wal-Mart there was a crazy cashier, I'll call her "Love" (do you know who I am talking about Wendi?!). Like I said, Love was crazy! When the store switched over to Super Center she took a 2 week leave of absence because she couldn't handle the stress of change. Don't get me wrong-she was a super nice lady but a little odd. One day while working, I was visiting with the Service desk associates (I did this alot, especially when I was alone in the office and it was slow!), while chatting Love came to check out there. I noticed she was buying a TON of fake flowers. Curious, I asked her what she was doing with all the flowers. She quickly answers she puts them out in her yard! I think....CRAZY! But am nice and just smile.
Well, since Troy and I have been doing so much work in our yard I have gotten in the habit of checking out other people's landscaping. Seeing both things I loved and hated with what they did (people probably think the same about ours!) But since we killed everything but the BIG trees I had alot to figure out and had to start from scratch. Anyway, one day while driving somewhere I noticed a home with some fake flowers out in the yard. I instantly think of Love and wonder if that is where she lives! Well as I have continued my "yard stalking" I have found soooooo many homes that have plastered their yard with fake flowers! Hanging baskets, along fences, up the sidewalk to their front doors! So, Love can't live in all these different homes so there must be lots of crazy people out there! They aren't "WOW" fake flowers, they are all $1.00 looking bundles from Wal-Mart! I guess it saves time and money from not having to water, but it is just strange to me!

I have never understood that. Last week I came across a house that had a huge bed planted with fake pansies. Planted! It had to have taken them more time to cut the stupid things apart and then bury them until they stood upright than it would have taken to plant real ones.

Andy's grandparents do that and I think it looks so tacky. This year we are buying them real flowers and planting them for them.

I saw a nice new house in Provo that had an astroturf lawn. It was the middle of the winter and their lawn was BRIGHT green, while everyone else's was dead. Fake plants don't belong outside.
