Getting A Little Better...

My Senior year in High School my friends and I took a cooking/sewing class (mostly for fun and to laugh, not 'really' learn!). One of our sewing projects was to make a pair of pajamas. Mine didn't turn out so well!
They barely fit in the rear area and WAY too big in the waist. The seams started to come undone the first time I washed them and I am pretty sure one leg was longer than the other! They turned out pretty awful! But I passed the class so it didn't ruin my day.

Fast forward to tonight...
Taylor LOVES the soft 'minky' fabric. She has 3 pink ones and while she is lounging with her blanket or about to fall asleep she sits and rubs her little fingers across the bumps.
For her Christmas Eve/morning pajama's I wanted to make some jammies out of the red material. I kept putting off the process of actually making them that I was running out of time. Tonight was the night (finally) I sat down, cut out the material (p.s. still hate patterns!) and put together the pajamas.

Hopefully they fit her, the legs look the same length and I am praying they won't fall apart in the wash!

I was just going to put a plain white tee with them, but I was on a roll sitting at the sewing machine, that I made a little tree out of the same material to put on the shirt. I think she will LOVE them!

The whole outfit looks SUPER long hanging there, but I made them the same length as some other jammie bottoms she has, so they shouldn't be too long for her!

Super cute Alisha. Will you make me some? J/K I love that soft material. Taylor is so lucky to have such a wonderful Mommy!

What a fun Christmas morning outfit. They look adorable and I'm sure she will love them. I'm impressed with your skills. I am scared to death of a sewing machine- we don't get along very well. I am currently trying to make quiet books for church and the process is a little overwhelming. I can't seem to get the seams to line up when sewing inside out. The task is all together frustrating. But practice, practice, practice...maybe someday I'll prevail- as you've clearly shown!

You did an awesome job. I could never do that, and my mom sew's. I guess I wasn't blessed with that talent. My first pair of pants turned out like you described, or the machine kept braking on me. Taylor will love them. The hard part is "Will she ever get out of them?"
Love ya
