"After Taylor's Birthday..."

A few weeks before Taylor's birthday I told Troy that after her birthday I was going to work on her to not wake up in the middle of the night. I told myself I was just going to let her cry herself back to sleep but after I thought about it more I couldn't just lay there and listen to her cry. So I started to just give her water in preparation to this event. Also so that she learns she will only get some water if she wakes up. Well, the Saturday after her birthday she became sick (ear infection (again) and croup-this time with the cough/breathing problems). Two night in a row she slept with Troy and I because she would wake up almost every hour to half hour crying. The only little bit of comfort I could give her was to sleep on my chest-so comfy! She refused to take her bottle of water that I gave in and made a bottle of milk. That wouldn't work either. I would have gotten up and made her a steak dinner if that meant she would sleep in her own bed and for longer periods of time!
I took her in to Dr. Klett Monday afternoon and they gave her a shot of steroids to help with the croup and some antibiotics to help her ears and last night she slept in her own bed, woke up once and gladly took her bottle of water. AAAHHHH sleep! This put a slight delay in my effort to get her to sleep through the night, but I decided getting up once for 10 seconds is alot better then having a night full of tears and sleeplessness!
