I woke up this morning to the back door slamming (there is no quiet way of shutting that door and if there were Troy never tries) I glance over to see what time it was...7:45 uuuhhhh-I had 40 minutes to get myself and Taylor fed, showered and dressed for church! I quickly start the process and it's a good thing I got out our church clothes last night and ironed them! I am horrible about that. BUT I end up changing my outfit (I am just picky). Our church doesn't start until 9, but Troy has a meeting every Sunday at 8:30 so I always TRY to be ready so we only have to take one vehicle (plus I like riding together) I did have a half hour cushion, but I was gonna try. We end up with me wearing my hair wet and pulled back- a style that my hair has seen alot of lately, eating my toast on the ride over and feeding Taylor at the church. But as I am pulling her out of the carseat I realize we had forgotten her pacifier at home! OH NO- I have never really had to go without a pacifier because we usually always just have one clipped to the carseat, but yesterday we had stopped at Ryan and Maren's and I ended up just throwing it in the "large" diaper bag since we only live a few miles away and I was pretty sure Taylor wasn't going to need it. * We have so much "junk" that we have to haul around church that I use a smaller diaper bag for Sundays.* Anyway, Troy has the keys to the car or I probably would have just went home to get it but since he was already late for his meeting I didn't want to bother him. Well, the wait for church to start and the first little bit of sacrament went pretty well, Taylor just quietly played on the bench. Right during the opening prayer she decides she needs to go to the "bathroom" (Whit, babies aren't quiet about that either!) since she didn't go the day before I knew it was going to be a good one! She started to grunt REALLY loud and usually with the pacifier she tones it down a little. I end up taking her out she was getting so bad. Well she takes care of business now minus her dress bloomers from an overload, and we return to our seats, just to shortly end up back in the hall because now she is tired and wants her pacifier. I try to get her to fall asleep without it and just her blanket but it's not working, so I end up using "the human pacifier" it works and she quickly falls asleep. When I go to leave she starts sucking on my collar bone, usually this is when I insert the pacifier and not getting that she starts screaming! I try giving her just my finger but I think this made her worse. So I basically spend the rest of sacrament in the Mother's lounge. When she is finally in a deep enough sleep to STAY asleep it only lasts for 10-15 minutes. By this time it is the start of Sunday school. When Troy joins me in the R.S. room I tell him, "Either you go and get the pacifier or I will!" Being the kind man that he is, he ran home and got it (more like drove). It was a good thing because I had to teach the Young Women lesson and she just laid on the floor SUCKING HER PACIFIER and cuddling her blanket. I am officially going to put an extra pacifier in each diaper bag just in case this happens again! I do not think I could have lived before pacifiers were invented and I certainly wasn't going to teach her how to suck her thumb!
