Can I do this????

Can a 25 year old Mother of two with ALL babies in tow with a full cart just sit down and have a good cry when things aren't going her way?

Didn't think so.

Rough Day

Staying out almost two hours past bedtime last night.

Having to be woken up early to be drug around the craft fair.

Shortened nap due to being invited to a baby shower.

Add it all up and you get one cranky, tantrum throwing little girl!

I left the baby shower after 20 minutes due to about 15 (no kidding!!) tantrums thrown!
After letting her (and myself) cool down I went to check on her, due to being too quiet, this is how I found her....

Just as sweet as can be!

I took advantage of the time, grabbed my blanket and pillow and took a nap with her! We both woke up happier, hungry and enjoying each others company again! :)

Nothing has changed!

Since the time Taylor fell out of the shopping cart she has not been allowed to sit/stand/play in the basket of the cart (exception is when I had her and Ashton and they both sat and entertained each other). We walk into the store get a cart, sit her in the designated spot and buckle her in. She does not get out of that spot until it is time to load back into the car. Period.
Lately when I go to put her in her 'chair' she starts to scream, pulls at the buckle and sometimes she arches her back so far back over the bars I am afraid she is going to hurt herself! She whines pretty much the entire time we are doing our shopping and usually she is very well behaved in the stores! The worst is the 'fake' cry she has developed and she does it periodically through out the store. Talk about drive me nuts!

The same has begun with nap time and bed time. I usually feed her an early lunch. After she is cleaned up, and diaper is changed it is time to lay down. I do not wait for her 'act' tired. It is just the way it is....Nap time is after lunch!
Bedtime is the same routine. Eat, clean up (sometimes it's a bath depending on how messy she was) pajamas, bedtime at 7:00. Once again, I am a routine type of person and she has been too! We have established these 'rules' when she was just a few months old!! :)

Not lately!! She hangs onto your neck for dear life as you are laying her down and cries for a minute or two. Then settles down. In the past I would get no fight from her and not a whimper!

Nothing has changed, just the personality of our little girl. She is practically running towards the terrible two's and I just can't take it! It breaks my heart to discipline her, especially when I make her sit in the middle of the room (only thing I have found that makes her behave! I guess it's like a time out spot only it's wherever I happen to place her.) with nothing to play with. Her poor cry with the real tears rolling down her cheeks make me want to go right over and pick her up, but I know I won't get anywhere if I do that! I must stay strong, only it's easier said than done!

Who wouldn't love this adorable crooked glasses wearing little girl?!

Such a Pain!

Today was just one of those days! Taylor refused to take her usual nap so she was actually awake to eat lunch. But I can't complain because she took over a 3 hour nap-very unusual for her because she only takes about a 2 hour one. We went into town to do some grocery shopping and get some more flowers to add more color to the yard. She would politely say please when she wanted something and then sign more if she is finished eating what I had given her to munch on.
When we got home she got to play outside for awhile. When we went in it was time to start dinner, no sooner than the meat started to brown Troy came home and asked if we wanted to go into town and eat. Sure why not! We should have stayed home!!!!
We went to Aguila Con El Taco and good thing we were pretty much the only ones in there! Taylor was so naughty!!! She refused to eat anything and only wanted her drink, she became very frustrated that the lid was on the drink so I took it off...big mistake. She took a shoe off and threw it on the ground, then continued to throw her rice and whatever else we would give her. Then it happened....she hit over her drink and it went everywhere, right into my lap!!!! I was soaked and looked like I had peed! Are you kidding! After that I was pretty much done eating and we went straight to the car, Troy had to finish eating by himself!
She continued to throw random tantrums the entire drive home. After she was ready for bed, I didn't want her to wake up during the night hungry so I gave her a bagel to munch on (but on the drive home I threatened she will go to bed hungry!). No luck, still a little pill so she went straight to bed! I haven't heard a peep from her yet.
Not to justify her tantrums but it doesn't help she is getting another tooth! I can't wait until teething is over!

Swimmin'

Yesterday my Mom, sister and I went swimming at Nat-Soo-Pah. In addition to Taylor and my sisters 3 boys we brought my brothers 3 (of 4) girls. Talk about a handful of kids to watch for 3 adults! Taylor loves taking baths and playing in water in general (she loved swimming last summer as well) so I thought she would love it again this year. I was wrong! She pretty much cried the whole time! The only time she was happy is when I finally took her out of the pool and she was wrapped in a towel sitting on my lap. It's not like she was cold...the pool is heated! My mom finally took over and she played happily on her lap while I went up and down the slide with the other kids.

These are before/After of our "swimming fun." No during, all they would be is Taylor crying so I didn't even bother! :)

It didn't help she was wide awake at 5:30, refused to take a nap until the drive up and was only running on fumes. She slept for about 20 minutes of the drive home then it was shower time and to a reception we go. It was one of my friends from high school and he happen to marry into Troy's family so it was fun to go and see some family and lots of my old high school friends. Taylor was pretty much happy for the first part, but the last 30-45 minutes she was awful! She never stood still and didn't want to be held so it was more tears galore!

Taylor's new "Do", a Rash, and Full of Temper day!

I can't believe how long and thick Taylor's hair has gotten! Today was day 1 of many that I was able to pull ALL of her hair back! I did have to use a few barrettes to help hold her little fly aways back but the style was do-able. I think it turned out so cute, but Troy thought it looked "weird" because he wasn't use to seeing her forehead? She always has her forehead showing so I am not sure why he thought it was weird. We went to JoAnn's (mother-in-law) birthday dinner this evening and all of the women in attendance commented on how cute/long her hair was. Men! :) The bows in the picture are officially my new absolute favorite bows! A few weeks ago it was my flower bows so who knows what they will be after she has a bow in every color made out of this ribbon!

On another note, Taylor had an allergic reaction to her $32.00 Rx. There is money down the tube! She broke out in a pretty bad rash on her back/chest and it was moving up her face and down into the "diaper area" and I got a little nervous so we took her in to get checked. Biaxin is now a no-no and must be pointed out in all medical records as "allergies." We are now back onto the $10 amoxicillin.

She also had a day full of temper tantrums! We went to Twin and she threw big fits in all of the stores we went too! I could have probably went to more but I stopped after 3 stores and lunch. The worse one was in Michaels and I actually thought they were gonna throw us out or call the Police on me because she literally cried the entire time I was in there! One couple was actually in Target and saw her throwing a fit in there too! How embarrassing! The lady said I was a good Mom though for not giving into her and just letting her cry it out! I felt like an awful mom and got SSSOOOOOOOOOO many looks! It made me remember times before kids when I saw a screaming kid in the store and I would think, "Get them out of here!". Now I am the Mom with the screaming kid getting the looks I use to give! AAAHHHHH! I do have one thing to look forward to though...the lady that I mentioned earlier said she had a little girl that was a major temper tantrum girl as a toddler but she was their absolute best teenager. There is some hope! :)
