Big Girl Bed!

Troy has used his woodworking talent to good use again (adds to the list of entertainment center, sofa table, shelf in Taylor's room, bathroom vanity/storage cupboard...not to forget ALL the other bathroom remodeling done, we gutted it and he rebuilt it completely!) and added a gorgeous bed for Taylor Jane!

My brother Jason has a super cute bed for his older boy Zayne which I loved because it has railings and they can be removed...a must. Then I love the idea of drawers underneath the bed so that was another must.
We went to Pottery Barn kids and found this bed...

And also loved the straight lines of this bed...

So we combined the two with my must of removable railings and he came up with a beautiful creation!

Before the finished product, here are some 'putting together' pics with little Taylor helping out.

It took longer than anticipated to put the bed together, move out the crib, and set the new bed up that it ended up being 2 HOURS past Taylor's bedtime (usually she's in bed by 7!!) that she was so sleepy!

But she was pretty funny when Troy would use the drill. This was the face she would give me when the screw really started to drive into the wood...

Finally complete!
(Here is all 4 angles for those of you that saw her room before)

The dresser and the changing table will be coming out and moved into the office, which will soon become the new nursery, but to prevent all the extra moving of stuff they will probably just stay until the nursery is painted and the new carpet is down and the room is ready!
I can't believe how much room the bed takes! But we decided to go with a twin so we won't have to make/switch her out ever again. The only change will be the removal of the railings! :)

She slept alright last night. She LOVED to jump on the mattress when it is occupying space in the office but I think it quickly dawned on her that we were making it her bed! I had to lay with her until she fell asleep. Troy went in around midnight to give her a drink and then I ended up sleeping with her from 4 until 7:30,(which was kind of nice because Troy didn't get squished in our bed and we both had plenty of room...give me a few more months and me and the belly probably won't be fitting!)
She went down reasonably well for her nap, so hopefully she adjusts quite well.

Your husband is amazing. That is a very cute bed. Did you make the bedding? Because I also like the bedding. I can't believe that Taylor is already old enough for a big bed.
