My nephew Ashton turned 2 today. Happy Birthday Roo! :) In honor of his day my sister asked me to make his cake. She was going with a "Cowboy" theme so I found this really cute cowboy cake pan I wanted to use to make the cake.
I could only find them on e-bay and they were going for way more than I wanted to pay so I started "researching" for different ideas. I came across one idea that was using a cowboy hat and I just kind of went with that idea. Here is the end result...
I especially loved the barbed wire that was going all around the cake...it's not real wire, but it looked like it in person! My sister got all of her boys blue bandannas to wear and I got a red one for Taylor. I was actually kind of surprised she wore it the whole time at the party because she FREAKED out when I tried it on her earlier at our house!
Before the party even started we spent almost an hour playing outside with the kids.
We went in shortly for cake and ice cream then right back outside for the pinata. We tried getting Taylor to take a swing but she didn't like that idea!
My brother-in-law was just standing on a step stool holding onto the pinata and his oldest son (Keegan,6) hit him pretty good in a "not so nice spot!" It was so funny! I was actually recording it and once I get fire wire to watch the video clips on my computer I will post it!
We played outside for a good 2.5 hours today so I am hoping it wore my little baby girl right out to sleep well through the night! I love living close to my (and Troy's) family so we are able to get together for celebrations and not miss out on days like today. I especially love that Taylor and Ashton are only 9 months apart so they can become partners in crime! Right now he is just all boy and loves to pick on her! It will make her tough right?!?!
