I may hate cleaning up the messes that Taylor can make, but why should I not let her experience these things?! Tonight was no different. She got to lick the brownie mix spoon, which I LOVED to do when I was younger, and she absolutely loved it!
She was making me laugh how serious she was about getting all the batter off!

Do you like her crazy out of control hair sticking out of the side of her head (first picture)???

Queen of the Couch
Yesterday Taylor thought it was pretty cool when I took the cushions off the couch to vacuum underneath them. She was actually able to climb up on the couch when SHE wanted too, not when she had to wait for my assistance. This morning when I got out of the shower I opened the bathroom door to this....
I take it she wanted on the couch so she took matters into her own hands when I wasn't around to remove them for her.

Gina's Worst Nightmare!
My sister Gina is extremely clean/organized/tidy...you name it that is her! In fact, one time while I was visiting her in Texas her daughter (2 yrs. younger than me) and I went around the entire house and slightly tilted every picture in her house. When she returned home from wherever she was at we waited and watched as she automatically started straightening things. She finally realized (as we were laughing hysterically) that we had pulled a prank on her. Even her husband makes bets with friends on how long it will take her to pick up a wrapper laying on the floor! She made me laugh when she was here in March because every time she would use my bathroom she would put the toilet paper sitting on the counter back in it's rightful spot-that is my way of baby proofing, I would rather have it on the counter than unrolled on the floor! She straightens the pillows on the couch several times a day (Finally! The point of my post!) Taylor LOVES to take all my pillows off of my couches several times a day. I can't wait to see how much fun Gina will have with her (and her Grandson, 1) the end of the month when we are visiting!
She actually has the pillows all together and in a pile in the pictures. Usually they are spread out and surrounded by blankets and toys!

Human Can Opener
Lately Taylor has been able to open anything! She has the "flip tops" down like there's no tomorrow! Even if you give her something (desitin or lotion...distraction while getting dressed) the wrong way she will turn the bottle around and pry it open with her teeth. Just the other day while I was repainting her toe nails she managed to twist open one of the nail polishes! I often find her standing on her tip toes reaching for door handles and now when she wants something to eat/drink she is trying for the fridge! She can open up her dresser drawers, but thankfully she only gets into the bottom drawer when she wants a blanket. She tries the bathroom drawers also, but they are self closing and a little tougher to open..thank heavens! This morning she was playing in her usual cupboard while I was cleaning up breakfast. Our cupboards are short and you can not stand up any boxes upright (plus not alot of room) therefore a big box of granola bars and sugar cookie mix is shoved with the pots/pans. I saw that she was playing with the granola bars and didn't stop her. I turn around two seconds later and she had "nibbled" her way through one of the packages!! Maybe she has been spending too much time with her mousey friends in the Honda :) I was actually kind of glad it was a granola bar and not the sugar cookie mix! That would have been a mess to clean up.
*I also took these pictures with "Troy's" camera (I usually don't use it because there is too much that you need to adjust to get it just right...half the time Troy is messing with the settings that Taylor isn't doing the cute thing she was doing anymore for us to get the camera out!) Anyway, I got a couple really good close ups, mainly just the last one with her mouth stuffed full of granola-of course Troy critiqued some of the others, like I meant to focus on the Tupperware rather than our child! LOL :)

It's almost time to baby proof a little more!

Mmmmm Oreos!

Taylor likes the Mini cookies that you can find while standing in line at the store. Today we got oreos. Since the car is still having problems with the mice, she had to wait until we got home to eat any. She usually just carries around the container and eats a cookie here and there...I never find any messes with any of the other cookies. Well, this is how I found her! She would pull apart the oreos and eat the centers then throw the cookie parts on the ground. It's like the commercials! :) Some of the filling-less cookies she would feed to Troy. The others, would go back into the container once she finished all the cream out of them (I didn't give her the entire container! Just a few, the others went into a baggie for later use!) She is so weird! Gotta love her!

Thanks Melissa!
Last Saturday, my sister Melissa watched Taylor for me during my Primary Activity Day. Taylor loves playing with Ashton and Melissa too! With Taylor's blonde hair she looks more like Melissa, so when she was younger I would never let Melissa carry her around the stores because people always thought she belonged to her and not me! Then as Taylor got older she was a little more vocal about choosing Melissa over me in public! :) Back to my story...
Melissa let Taylor do something I never let her do at home...be messy! The BIG things she told me about was pulling the videos out of the entertainment center and pulling all the wipes out of the container and dragging them around. Not thinking much of it at the time, I was laughing at how happy Taylor was when she was able to do all this. Now whenever I get out the wipes Taylor starts to scream because I won't let her pull all of them out of the box! I don't have the problem with the videos because our entertainment center has drawers up higher that she can't reach them...yet. She gets into the entertainment center, but it is mostly to get her toys out-they have a nice big spot! I really do let her play with toys and be messy, but to a point. When the mess gets to be too much I make her "help" pick them up through out the day. It's just not my personality (or Troy's) to let there be alot of messes. If it were Troy's choice he just wouldn't let her eat anything but milk and dry cereal because she makes too big of a mess. I don't mind an "eating" mess. At least it's contained to a small area. Toys bother me (and not so much with Troy) more. Our children are doomed to only have fun making messes at Aunt Melissa's or Grandma's (well not so much Grandma's upstairs since they remodeled-she is extra strict there now!!!)
Taylor had fun with a whole container of pudding awhile ago-went perfect with this post!
