A lady I work with asked if I can make some pajamas for her grand-daughters. I told her about the time I made some pajamas for Taylor out of the minky and she loved the idea.
I made three pairs for her. Every time I was cutting out a pair Taylor was at my side asking if those were for her. Then as I was sewing them together, she would ask if those were for her.
Both times the answer would be no.
I decided to get some material and make the kids some. They both love the minky so I knew I couldn't go wrong.
They turned out cute and were a {HUGE} hit when I gave them to the kiddos. If I were smart, I would have just waited and had them as their Christmas pajamas, but I had already purchased those so these were 'bonus' jammies.

I had enough left over out of Parker's that I made him a little pillow to match. Man, this kid {LOVES} this pillow. He would carry it around the house with it up against his face. You put him in bed and the first thing he goes for (okay third....blanket and pacifier come first and second), but he is hooked.
I don't blame them for loving them, if I knew I wouldn't look like a fool wearing them, I would make some for myself.....

AJ's Bow-tique

After much debate, I broke down and started a blog for AJ's Bow-tique.
Also, in addition to my e-bay store I have always had an etsy store and finally broke down and linked it on my blogs. Etsy is soooo much easier to list things on and E-bay is a PAIN to list on!
I am asking a favor to all you readers to add a link on all ya'll's blog to AJ's Bow-tique to help spread the word of my stuff.
Thanks girls!
If you guys visit AJ's Bow-tique blog you will see my newest sewing project! It is soooo cute! :)
Here's a sneak peek...

Got An Itch....
I recently started getting an itch to sew some more. I found these two cute patterns on line. One for a 'Little Boy' tie for Parker...

The back of the tie is corduroy. It still needs to be washed to get more of the 'raw' edges, but I washed all the colors this morning so it will have to wait :)
The second pattern was for this cute cute cute dress for Taylor Jane! Loved it so much I made two!

The dress pattern is suppose to just be a free flowing dress that can be worn as a tunic when it becomes too short. When I tried on the first dress on my girl it was a bit too baggy so I un-picked it and added the ribbon to tie in the back.
I can't wait for Sunday so my kiddos can be all dressed up in something I made them!
My second 'itch' is to learn more about photography. The other night Jason & Christy brought Madison over for pictures so I stepped in and took a few...

Troy took this one, but I thought it was cute (and I was the one that purchased the angel wings...)
My brother from Utah was also in town this weekend and they wanted family pictures. I got a few that turned out good, but Troy needs to edit them.....maybe someday I will get the itch to learn Photoshop better for pictures and not just digital scrapbooking. :)

Finally Committed!
I have always thought about selling my bows around town, but the thought of all the time "pre-making" them really made me rethink it. With E-bay I can make them once they are ordered/paid for!
Well, the new little store (where I bought my window pane I mentioned earlier) "Homemade Treasures" is now officially expecting me to bring in bows! I don't know how well they will sell there because every time I mention the new store to someone they have no clue it is even open! I also went to a Child's World today and talked with Alissa Sorensen's mom and she said she would send people down the street (she doesn't like the bows they carry there) but then she found out I have a state DBA (doing business as) filed so I could sell them there too! :) Who knows, maybe I will just commit to the Homemade Treasures and (someday this year) get around to getting a booth in the craft fair! We will see.

July is in the air!

It's not even June yet and I have had so many requests for 4th of July bows! It may have been a holiday weekend but I have spent most of it making and posting red/white/blue bows.
They are all pretty much the same but in different "styles". There's some for babies on stretch headbands, toddlers wearing pigtails and the older girls that wear hard headbands (but the bow comes off so you can wear it either way!) I can't decide which bows I will have Taylor wear on the "big" day. I absolutely love my ruffle ribbons, but I put her in a korker bow today and it's looking pretty cute too. I don't make alot of korkers because it involves alot more work! :p

Kind of Scary
This morning as Troy and I were eating breakfast the phone rings. I walk over and see it is a "toll free" # so I decide I am not going to answer. Troy being a funny guy that he is likes to give the telemarketers a bad time once in awhile says he will answer. Next thing I know I am hearing that my credit card for AJ's Bow-tique has been used in Ireland and somewhere else (can't remember the name)! Suddenly it turns serious for me learning that someone has a hold of my credit card information! The card is cancelled and now I have to file a dispute against the charges when I get the statement! It's become a sad scary world full of dishonest people! When I got home from Utah I didn't answer a call from a "toll free" # and now I am thinking I should have because maybe I could have prevented the second charge (which was last night/this morning) in Ireland! Scary.

Soccer Ribbon Tee

Here is this weeks ribbon tee project. It was inspired by my friend Emily's little girl Maddie. She is a little "soccer player" like her Mom and I actually made this in her size so she can be my "Model" in it soon. The bows are just pony o's so that they aren't too "girly" but they also still say "Girl." :) It's hard to tell in the pictures but the soccer print ribbon is placed inside a ruffle ribbon so it adds a little depth to the shirt.

Ribbon Tee Project

I love making ribbon tee's and have always wanted to make some fun ones other than holiday ones in my e-bay store. I never really motivated myself to just start making them and get them listed! Well, I am now motivated (a little more) to make one a week. This will continue until all of the "oh that would make a cute shirt" ribbon is put to better use! So to guarantee that I get this done I will make it a habit to post my most recent creation. Sorry to have to bore you guys, but I think it will help! ;) This week I made the "Diva" shirt. Of course made in Taylor's size so she can sport it around! The bows I made to match will be too big and heavy for her right now, so I will have to come up with a smaller version later.

Bows, Bows, Bows!

This is what I have been working on for the past few days....BOWS! To top it off, these are all for ONE person! 14 sets, 23 individuals, 51 total! My pointer finger on my left hand is rubbed raw from the wire used to hold the bow. This same customer has also bought 30 headbands from me in the past, now her daughter has graduated to clips. I am NOT complaining at all, but I am a little burnt out on making pretty much the same 2 'style' of bows but in a different design or color! :)

Young at Heart

A few weeks ago a lady purchased a bow from me for her granddaughter. I got an e-mail from her a few days ago wanting to get a couple other bows. To my surprise she wanted to get two of the exact same bow she had already purchased. One bow with a band larger so when her granddaughter grew out of the first bow she will still have one like it. The second one big enough for herself! How many Grandma's do you know that having matching headbands as their granddaughter?!?! To make it even better she wanted to get them by Easter so they can wear them to church together! :)
When she first wrote me about getting them I replied with a few questions and no response for a day or two. When she wrote back she apologizes because she was having chest pains and had to be monitored for a while. Can you just picture Grandma JoAnn or my Mom wearing the same bow in their hair as Taylor! How funny would that be!
